Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have wifi?

Yes, we have Starlink WiFi available on the property.

mobile reception is limited depending on your provider, but Starlink helps keep you connected when you need it, just change your phone settings to wifi calling. That said, we highly recommend taking the chance to switch off while you’re here.

What should I bring?

Each dome has a small kitchen with an induction hob, microwave and outdoor BBQ grill, so you can keep meals simple and easy. We recommend bringing food and drinks for your stay, breakfast supplies, snacks, something for dinner, and anything you’d like to enjoy while soaking in the hot tub or relaxing by the fire.

The nearest small towns are Duntroon and Kurow, with Oamaru the closest larger town for a bigger grocery shop. It’s a good idea to stock up before you arrive, so once you’re here you can settle in and not have to leave.

Where are you located?

  • Danseys Pass Lavender Farm is tucked away in the Waitaki Valley, between Canterbury and Otago. The drive in is part of the experience — open farmland, big skies, mountain views and a slower pace before you even arrive.

  • Location
Danseys Pass, Waitaki District, South Island, New Zealand.
  • Access
Guests arrive through the purple gates and follow the farm signs through to the dome parking area.

  • Road note
The Duntroon side of Danseys Pass is generally accessible year-round. In winter, the Naseby side can be affected by snow, so guests should check road conditions before travelling that way.

  • Nearby
Duntroon, Kurow, Oamaru, Omarama and the Waitaki Valley are all within reach.

How do I book a stay?

You can book your stay through our Book Your Stay button, which will take you to our current availability and booking options.

Choose the dome and dates that suit you, then follow the booking steps from there. If you’re not sure which dome is best, or you’re planning a family stay, group booking or special occasion, you’re welcome to get in touch and we can help.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 2pm, and check-out is by 10am.

This gives us time to clean, reset the dome, refill supplies and make sure everything is ready for the next guests.

Is the farm pet friendly?

We love animals, but to keep our horses and chickens safe, and to keep the accommodation clean and fresh for everyone, we no longer allow guest pets to stay. Thanks for understanding.
